Welcome to the Department of Political Science, M.N.C. Balika Mahavidyalaya.
The Political Science Department has been functioning since the very inception of the college i.e. 1979. The college authority realized the significance and conceptuality of the subject and so it was introduced as an optional subject for the H. S level at the initial stage and the degree level in the session 1983-84. Afterwards the college authority introduces Political Science as a major subject in the degree standard in 1990. Major course is being offered to the students on merit basis. We are immensely grateful to the Late Karuna Kanta Sarma, HOD, Dept. of Political Science, Nalbari College, and Ms. Niroda Choudhury Baruah, Head Mistress, M.N.C. Balika Vidyapith, Nalbari, who served as guest lectures at the initial stage. The Department is presently having three permanent and two contractual faculty members.
VISION
i To develop a deep quest for life-long learning that will help them discover the unique contentment of intellectual learning.
ii To impart training to the student in order to equip them academic and professional capability & develop among them analytical perspective.
iii To encourage research in the social political issues at contribute to the discipline of Political Science.
iv To help the students in developing personality so that they can stand in the society as assets.
MISSION
i We aim to develop a body of Students equipped with in Department knowledge of the discipline and sensitivity to the aspirations of Indian society to bring about social transformation, gender justice and public service.
ii To equip students to understand and analyze political and administrative processes at local, national and international level.
iii To orient students towards value – based democratic politics with a new to create empowered citizens.
