In the present day scenario, whether one is considering law, medicine, advertising, teaching or journalism, a background in English can offer one a good foundation for a future career. It will be immaterial to overlook the far reaching consequences of globalization. In order to keep pace with the advancing nations, we must be keen-eyed, lion-hearted, iron build and well disciplined. The department of English, since its inception, is making persistent efforts to make students to rise higher and higher. To lead the students to their cherished goal, and to arouse new enthusiasm among them and to give vent to their creative ability a departmental journal Persuit and a wall magazine Pathways are being published every year.
To have a good command of the language for communication purposes with clarity and accuracy, in 2008 the department has set-up a Digital Language Laboratory under the guidence of EFL University, Hyderabad. This is one of its kind in the state and in a college like ours. Students can enhance their communication skills, intanation, pronunciation, stress etc. with this facility.
Majoring in English, one is sure to gain strong critical reading, analytical thinking and precise writing skills. In order to enroll oneself as a student of English Major one has to face an entrance test. The test will decide whether the student is capable of taking of English as a major subject or not. The department has nine faculty members including guest professors and part time lecturers.

The selection for admission to the programme will be based on an All India level Open Entrance Test
to be conducted by the Institution. The questions will be multiple choice type. The test is of two hours duration and consists of three components
