The Department of Assamese at M.N.C.B.M. is a prominent institution within Nalbari district, boasting a rich history since its establishment in 1979. Over its 44-year journey, it has been graced by the presence and contributions of numerous esteemed figures in Assamese language, literature, and culture, including Mr. Ganeshchandra Barman, Dr. Narnarayan Sarma, Dr. Utsav Chandra Deka, Dr. Leena Deka, and Dr. Paresh Nath Sarma, among others. Students of the department consistently excel, with many prominent scholars of Assam having graduated from here. The department\'s mission is to foster a deep understanding and appreciation of Assamese language, literature, and culture, actively working towards their preservation and development. Currently, the department is led by Dr. Manima Bhuyan as HOD, supported by a dedicated faculty consisting of Dr. Hiramani Talukder, Dr. Niharika Moran, Bihuram Englang, Parna Medhi, and guest lecturer Pampi Rani Baishya.
